In Angai, the Theasphere encompasses Europe and Northern Africa. Eastern North America could also be included due to its Thean-speaking majority.
Languages
Before tonogenesis, there is a strong tendency towards analytic typology with strong stress accent, often word-final (Thean, Kua, Æ, Danishmandi). Unlike in our Europe, more languages are unrelated.
The most spoken language is Thean, spoken in most of continental Europe and North Africa; however, different and often unrelated languages (e.g. stages of Æ and Kua) are spoken in certain areas, especially islands:
- British Isles: Kua
- Scandinavia: Æ
- Hungary: Vylman
- Iceland: Danishmandi
- Malta
- Crete
Culture
Religion
Historically non-institutionalized polytheism; also a "Buddhist" and "Jain" hotspot
Modern-day (before the timeline split) religion is largely informal and syncretic, much like in OTL Japan
History
Relatively few major upheavals until the advent of capitalism
Mediterranean Era
Thean Era
Begins when the printing press is invented (or introduced from Angai New World?)
