Onápaam Sowaázh is the working-class variety of Sowaázh spoken in the capital 'Onáp'aam of Sowaázh daSóol.

Phonology

The phonology of 'Onáp'aam Sowaázh is similar to Amísheg, with a few differences.

  • Word-initial /sC-/ clusters become /C-/.
  • Retros merge with their dental counterparts.
  • There is more syncope.
  • Overlong vowels appear.
  • Stress accent rather than pitch accent (as in Modern Greek).
