'''Syrenian''' is the language of the Syreni, the humans-genetically-engineered-to-be-mermaids of Syren, a water world.  The language is extremely difficult, but can be learned by homo sapiens. It shares features with the Athabaskan and Inuit-Aleut languages of North America, the Semitic languages of the Middle East, and even some artificial languages created by human beings! It is remarkable different, however, owing to its unique situation. The Syreni  have many characteristics in common with the mermaids of Earthlore.  They lead absolutely nomadic lives.
