===Pronunciation (IPA)===
* [[Guide:IPA|IPA]]: /ʑo/, [ʑɔ]
The verb itself comes from Ancient Greek ζῶ (zô), and as such is cognate with Latin ''vīvō'', Russian ''жить'' (zhit').
