The Remonition began with the observation that the Trinity is not explicitly taught in the New Testament. The First Remonition was simply an anti-trinitarian movement, which also rejected the philosophy on which the Trinity is based (in favor of something similar to Baruch Spinoza's monism). The Second Remonition saw the influx of (Mahayana-like) Buddhist ideas.
