Proto-Mittaali is a reconstructed ancrestor of Mittaali languages.

Phonology

Proto-Mittaali had three vowel system: *a *i *u with no length distinction. Syllable structure was (C)V(C) with stress was falling on the first syllable

Morphology

Proto Mittaali is reconstructed as SVO, head initial, agglutinative language with nominative-accusative alignment(like most of its descendants).

Following noun cases are reconstructed:
Nominative: no marking
Accutative: *-put
Locative: *-kul
Dative: *-wa
Lative: *-lak
Instrumental: *-luj

Verbs

Verbs are conjugated for mood, voice, tense and aspect (in this order). Like any modern languages, Proto-Mittaali lacks infinitive. Imperative formed by reduplicating the verb. Conditional by adding -qu. Passive voice is formed by adding -mri, Middle voice by adding -kut. Following tense suffixes are reconstructed:
Present tense is unmarked
Past: -lka
Future: -kju
Perfective aspect is unmarked, while Imperfective is marked with -fsa. Habitual is formed by suffix -xmu.
