From Proto-Iscaric wōgs ("acceptable, appropriate"), from Proto-Maro-Ephenian ueyyḫw ("to be soft, comfortable, easy, suitable"). Compare with vignus ("weak, fragile"). Cognate with Dalitian ékhonos ("soft, fine").
