Dodellia, officially the Dodellian Realm (Clofabosin: dodellocridan), is a country in Etalocin, bordering Clofabolocin and Þrwhas. It is the largest country in Tricin by land area (between 3 and 5 times as large as the US) and by population (1.5 to 1.7 billion). Dodellia's official languages are Clofabosin and Dodellian, but there are numerous minority languages and cultures.

Dodellia is a constitutional monarchy.

History

Trician humans originated in present-day Dodellia.

Medieval Dodellia consisted of many separate nation-states.

Languages

  • Clofabosin
  • Dodellian
  • Idavic
    • Verapamil
  • Roshterian
  • Farsi + Sanskrito-Thai with simple syllables
  • Numerous other families and isolates

Sprachbünde

Dodellia is home to at least five indigenous language sprachbünde. Clofabosin and Dodellian are part of the Clofabian sprachbund spoken in Northern Etalocin, characterized by "Altaic" grammar. Except for Clofabosin, Dodellian and Yacavestub, Northern Dodellian languages have vowel harmony. Ksieh is part of the Equatorial Coast sprachbund, which is characterized by head-initialness, lack of tonality and analyticity. In addition there are the Central Dodellian sprachbund, Southern Dodellian sprachbund and Forest Dodellian sprachbund.

Southern Dodellian languages, such as Roshterian, are polysynthetic. Central Dodellian languages are analytic, and at least historically, exhibited morphosyntactic alignments very different from Clofabosin or Dodellian (tripartite? ergative? Austronesian?), as was the case with Idavic. Phonologically, Central Dodellian languages are known for having few fricatives and large vowel inventories. Large vowel inventories are also characteristic of Forest Dodellian languages.

Non-native languages may not be located in the sprachbunds they fit best.
