Constructed Languages
Learned Languages
I speak only two natural languages, German and French. I began learning German in High School because of my interest in the German language and culture. In addition to cultural aspects, I have ancestors who immigrated from (German-speaking) Switzerland. I am not fluent in German, but I will try to answer to the best of my ability if you converse with me auf Deutsch.
French is another language I have learned in High School. When my family moved to Portland, OR, the new school I transferred to did not have German :(. Instead of letting my distraught weigh me down, I decided to pour my vigor and love of languages into French, the language of love (and food :d). I greatly enjoyed my new school and my new foreign language. Since I have graduated, I have continued to learn both German and French online with the help of duolingo. I am also not fluent in French, but I am willing to respond to the best of my ability if you converse with me en français.
Introduction About Myself
I am a bibliophiliac - one who loves books. I am also an amateur linguist, dabbling in morphology, etymology, and syntax. I developed my love of languages and linguistics about a year ago, and learned a great deal since then about it. Being a bibliophiliac and internet addict helps :) I also enjoy conlanging - constructing languages. Most of the languages I construct are for purely artistic or self-educational purposes, and are by no means intended to be used as auxiliary languages or for testing philological hypotheses.
I have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) called Asperger's Syndrome (AS). AS is characterized by significant difficulties in social situations and nonverbal communication. Restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests are also found with AS. It differs from other ASDs by its preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Physical clumsiness and peculiar or odd use of language are frequently reported, but aren't required for diagnosis.
