The Tsí Rule is a rule that states that if tsí are the last letters of a word (discounting suffixes and prefixes), it will be pronounced [tse̞] instead of [tsi].

Examples

  • ŗobatsí (problem) [probatse̞], not [probatsi]
  • solůtsí (solution) [solutse̞], not [solutsi]

Exceptions

There are few exceptions to this rule.

  • alímentsí (meal) [alimentsi], not [alimentse̞]
