Etymology
From Old Grekelin σρατιά (Stratja), a colluquial form of strata, both stemming from Medieval Greek στρατός. The "-ia" was usually used for relatively larger armies, cf. Modern Greek στρατιά which is a cognate. The interconsonantal -t- was dropped when the breaking of consonant clusters began in Grekelin. Cognate with Latin strata, Proto-Celtic *stratos, Modern Greek στρατιά (Stratia)
