Hi there! I am Jack, known as osyrinx online.

I am an aspiring journalist and polyglot from Vancouver, Canada.

I am the creator of Esilien, a West Scandanavian conlang heavily inspired from Icelandic.

About Me:
I am an aspiring journalist and writer. You can often find me face-first in a good book, or potentially working on writing a chapter for the 50th time. I love languages, politics, and people. One of my favourite things to do in life is talk to others, especially those of other cultures. I love to travel, and to be able to experience different ways of life that exist on our earth.

My Spoken Languages

  English (Native)
  Spanish (Fluent)
  Icelandic (Near-Fluent)
  Dutch (Conversational)
  French (Conversational)
  Italian (Beginner)
  Greek (Beginner)
  Korean (Beginner)
  Mandarin Chinese (Beginner)

Esilien

Esilien began as a very small project. Originally I wanted to build a con-country— designing a fictional and almost idealistic way of the world (which, ended up very Nordic in style 😭). As it evolved, I began working on a language. Going through many iterations, it eventually became the Icelandic inspired conlang it is now.

It's designed to read like Old Icelandic met a unique, indigenous-like language and culture and grew through centuries of trade, exposure, and settlement.
