Usage notes

  • In common speech, the future and conditional indicative tenses are usually formed by a personal conjugation of verdare + infinitive. In the present (i.e. eo verdo, tu verdas, etc.) it conveys a future meaning, while in the perfect tense (i.e. eo vardo, tu vardasti, etc.) it will form a conditional instead. Notice that the verb still undergoes ablaut in the perfect tense.
In more formal settings or in careful speech, a synthetic conjugation of the infinitive verb replaces the verbal construction. Thus, the example sentences given above would be E garabe a'l stade d'el cunio side and Si me teluin si cumaraban latie, respectively. See Avendonian#Periphrastic forms.
