Avendonian

Pronunciation

  • (Central Avendonian) IPA(key): [ˈsate]
  • (North Adriatic) IPA(key): [ˈsa˩˥te˧]

Etymology

From Proto-Germanic *sēdiz.

Noun

sate m sg or m pl (plural sate)

  1. seed

Grekelin

Pronunciation (IPA)

  • IPA: /ˈsa.te/, [ˈsɑ.te]

Etymology

Unknown. Seems to be borrowed from Propontis Tsakonian σάε (sáe) of the same meaning (A number of the original Grekelin populations spoke Tsakonian as well), although the intervocalic -t- seems unexplained. No cognate can be found in any other European language.

Noun

  1. (Obsolete, now rare) Daughter
Davti e sate mei enta.   (That is my daughter.)
