Origins and name

The name Pfeunic originates from the Pfeune River. The hydronym is of Unfinnish origin: Unfinnish *pyyni > Proto-Wiebian *pfûni > Wiebian Pfeune. It is hypothesized to have been spoken 4000 HM years BP.
