Nepokian

Etymology

From Middle Nepokian 'eiro, Old Nepokian keiros, Proto-Nepokian keiros, of uncertain, but most probably Indo-European origin. 'eilo belongs to the group of words for which there is no canonical PIE root available, as it seems that Nepokian is the only language having this word preserved. If one accepts the Nostratic hypothesis, the word ultimately may have its source in ko˻w˼r∇ 'embers, hearth'.
