Hi, I'm Robert Murphy, a.k.a. Aquatiki. I'm still relatively new at conlanging. I am in grad school studying Semitics (Hebrew and related languages). I find conlanging a fun way to be sure I understand what I'm learning.

Fake Worlds and Their Fake Languages

• One where people learn my naturalistic auxlang
  • Weddish

Weddish is basically an Ergative, Dual, Yiddish auxlang. It was made for a class on marriage, so it's meant to encourage better communication, especially for Jews who intermarry.

• Harry Potter Universe
  • Parseltongue

Dr. Francis Nolan was commission by the HP movie makers to create a phonology and a few sentences, which he was very gracious to share with me. I expanded upon them greatly, bringing in further Estonian influences, and adding Dravidian and Bantu ideas.

• Oceanic Jews (primarily located off-site)
  • Proto-Austronesian Hebrew

Primarily using Ugaritic, I have reconstructed a best-guess of what Hebrew sounded like in 1000 B.C. and imagined what would happen if they were hauled off to the Philippines and interacted with something like Proto-Austronesian or Tagalog.

Using the previous language as a base, I plan on mashing up Hebrew with Māori

• Something like the w:Fictional universe of Avatar
  • Syreni

An utterly polysynthetic exolang, completely without nouns.

• An insane, African/East-Asian thingy
  • Ge'ezgukmal

After I learn Ge'ez, I plan on mashing it up with Korean-minus-Sino-Influence.

I use aquatiki just about everywhere on the internet. As far as a conlang presence goes, I started out on Frathwiki. It is fine, but Linguifex seems much more polished. Wikia was really limiting.
