Modern Fyxoomian popular music (by extension, modern popular music globally) often uses simple JI scales built from the harmonic series - a highly divisible number like 24, 36, 48, or 60 is used as the common denominator for the JI intervals in the scale. Otherwise, free JI is used. JI intervals may be approximated with other JI intervals (for example, 25/16 ≈ 14/9), but the identifications are not necessarily consistent as in regular temperaments. Quarter comma meantone is also common.

31edo is the norm for fixed pitch instruments, however the modern Fyxoomian system is more accurately described as 31edo + (theoretically infinite-limit) JI, since JI intervals are used to fill in where 31edo is perceived to be lacking (such as the 9 cent flat 11th harmonic and the 12 cent sharp 13th, 17th and 19th harmonics).
31edo is the norm for fixed pitch instruments, however the modern Fyxoomian system is more accurately described as 31edo for 7-limit + JI for higher limits, since JI intervals are used to fill in where 31edo is perceived to be lacking (such as the 9 cent flat 11th harmonic and the 12 cent sharp 13th, 17th and 19th harmonics).

Sometimes, especially in electronic music, other simple tempered scales such as 5edo, 7edo, 8edo, 9edo, and 10edo are used.
