And welcome to my talk page! I Welcome you, who has come to my talk page! Everything is possible at my talk page! The only limit is your imagination!

Hoppas jag inte tränger mig på....

Hi Billy! :D I said I was going to stop by, and I do always keep my promises! :D Waahlis (talk) 18:09, 4 November 2012 (CET)

Oh dear, that's quick work! I will ask my fellow administrators how they feel about a move, and I'll let them contact you instead on this wiki.

By the way, I had a certain designer role at the old wiki, and we had a special theme - so would you mind telling met you'd think of these pictures and buttons? :)

Blank.png - Used for headers of certain categories, Linguifex-pages and conlangs. Administrator and policy buttons. I fill buttons like this one with a motif that suits its purpose.

File:Whiteline.png - you can't see this one, because it's white. It is a background for page headers, which are at the top of the page with notices, titles or messages.

Finally, I've made a small draught for a new logo! Unless you want the current one! - File:Linguifex 1.0.png

Cheers, and let's get this one rolling! :D Waahlis (talk) 21:53, 8 November 2012 (CET)

Hello!

Just wondering, where did you set this up and get the domain name from? :) Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán (talk) 12:42, 10 November 2012 (CET)

I was already paying a webhosting fee for pretty much what amounted to my e-mail accounts and a small underdeveloped page with a few lines in Dhannua. So I had a lot of space and I thought, with wikkii down and wikia-awful ads/weird layout I figured I'd rather start something on my own, whose integrity and up-keep I myself could control. :P Then I spent some time considering names with -wiki until I figured linguifex was nicer (in my ears). I don't think it's a real latin word, but I modeled it on ars, artis + -fex (creator/agentative thing-y, -artisan) to get linguifex (artisan of languages/tongues) :P - Chrysophylax (talky talk) 17:34, 10 November 2012 (CET)

Sounds like a good plan :) You're making me want to have my own wiki to play around with stuff and stop me from littering other wikis with half-arsed attempts at projects. Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 18:59, 10 November 2012 (CET)

Today

Hi Billy!

A small update.

  • MOB has created an account.
  • I've imported the Template:Documentation and an array of cascading templates.
  • The Template:Header has been imported.
  • I've uploaded a lot of pictures, spheres, which I'd appreciate if you took a look at.
  • In addition, or rather mostly, I've been working on a very preliminary draught of a section for the Main page.

Sincerely, Waahlis (talk) 17:39, 10 November 2012 (CET)

Also, what's ye favourite colours? :D Name three, from the best to worst! --Waahlis (talk) 19:28, 10 November 2012 (CET)

Infobox. Or something.

I haven't got a clue what you're getting at with that one... :/ Waahlis.png Waahlis 22:39, 11 November 2012 (CET)

You'll see… In due time. Well, I'm trying to get at an en.wiki language infobox that can handle several language families, nested :P - Chrysophylax (talky talk) 22:40, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Good with code are you? Excellent, I just survive due to my organisation obsessions. THAT's why this is bothering me! :P I'll have to rename the pages later on... Could you create a list on your user page which ones go together 'till then? :) Waahlis.png Waahlis 22:44, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Not at all. I understand it, somewhat but writing my own wizardry, no. Just importing from En.Wiki but d'accord. Sure, will do! Admin.png Chrysophylax 22:47, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Hehe, me too! :p I think that would make it all easier. Don't forget to fill in the documentation, or chances are that I'll never understand mallarna! :P Waahlis.png Waahlis 22:51, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Calm down a second on the import. What are you trying to do? It'd help a lot if I knew? Also, some things don't seem to function properoly. --Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:33, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Yeah, there are a lot of mini-templates that are used in larger templates that are used in other templates. All to get the wiki-style infobox to work. I'm following the list on ETCWiki which contains guides to setting up things properly and yeah. Unfortunately, the guide recommends you start with the more complex templates first XD and then the ones that get the rest to work. Sigh.

Admin.png Chrysophylax 23:35, 11 November 2012 (CET)

So I understand. You don't think you should call it a day? I'm happy to do this tomorrow, since I have time then. It is fairly late, after all. Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:39, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Is the template import somehow undesirable? :p am I doing it wrong? I don't actually mind doing it right now, since today I had the fortune of sleeping in (thus well-rested). Btw, ta en titt på Dhannuá infobox example. Admin.png Chrysophylax 23:45, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Yeah, don't do that again... :P

I've actually never seen the MediaWiki break! :D Can't say I liked it, but shit happens. :P ¿Qué hiciste? Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:09, 11 November 2012 (CET)

You hadn't? Glad to have enrichened your life with a new experience! I installed a new extension, set it up properly, added the required lines to the master config and theen I missed a teensy letter. I didn't see it until MediaWiki told me. Apologies. Admin.png Chrysophylax 23:11, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Why thank you, I'm ever so glad! A truly enchanting event! Yes, I saw that MediaWiki didn't accept the "syntaxhighlight". I've got my nose everywhere I'm not supposed to! :3 Also, I'm glad you added the w: to interwiki, I was going mad because of that... On the old wiki we could edit the interwiki ourselves, so you shouln't have had to. Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:16, 11 November 2012 (CET)

I'll install the Interwiki extension then, that permits admins to add new interwiki defines to the table without using MySQL. Admin.png Chrysophylax 23:17, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Oh, no need! I survive just fine without it! However... Would you mind authorising the extension permitting personal .css? :3 Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:19, 11 November 2012 (CET)

$wgAllowUserCss = true; Admin.png Chrysophylax 23:28, 11 November 2012 (CET)

Eeexcellent! :D --Waahlis.png Waahlis 23:29, 11 November 2012 (CET)

WorldWideWeb Domination Plot

I suggest Waahlis get to do the front page, he is kick ass at it.

And MOB, he'll be the face of this operation :P

And I of course will help with Tempaltes and such

whats your speciality? =D EmperorZelos (talk) 17:20, 12 November 2012 (CET)

Also, do you have string functions, mathematical functions and such on this wiki yet? They will be required EmperorZelos (talk) 17:30, 12 November 2012 (CET)

I am the spider in the net.
nókwts hesmi.
ʿo phylax toũ khrȳsoũ eimi.
Chrysophylax Dives.
Not sure, I'm quite calm, moderate, computer-knowing, language loving and a C# programmer.
I can coordinate things if need be, but mostly, I'll go around helping users and making people feel comfortable. I'm like a Swiss army knife.
We have a few string functions as far as I know. templates list Admin.png Chrysophylax 17:34, 12 November 2012 (CET)

That is not what I meant, I meant the wiki string functions like vardefine, var, if etc EmperorZelos (talk) 17:43, 12 November 2012 (CET)

Wiki import

Would it be feasable for you to figure out how to import the "add word" function in translatiosn on wiktionary? EmperorZelos (talk) 18:22, 12 November 2012 (CET)

Hi again! I've tried out File:Linguifex.png as a internal logo, to use in banners and in spheres. Potentially also as a favicon. Votre opinion, s'il vous plait! Waahlis.png Waahlis 21:16, 12 November 2012 (CET)

Currently a bit occupied Zelos, but I'll try. Also, nice work Waahlis! Admin.png Chrysophylax 21:34, 12 November 2012 (CET)

Thank you! I'll give it a bit more work though. Probably make it a bit more gray. --Waahlis.png Waahlis 21:38, 12 November 2012 (CET)

HEY!...take it cool man, none of us are in a hurry, if you try your best and get it done when it is feasable that is good enough for all of us! :D Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 21:44, 12 November 2012 (CET)

"Extension LoopFunctions is incompatible with this release of MediaWiki, usage of deprecated non-existent $wgMessageCache. Per MediaWiki: $wgMessageCache | Removed in: 1.18.0| No longer used since r81027." Que? Whats wrong? Is it an old version?Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 06:06, 13 November 2012 (CET)

Can these be included aswell? Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 08:24, 13 November 2012 (CET)

Whou, take it easy on him. You should only suggest those that are absolutely necessary. He's got bandwidth to think about. Waahlis.png Waahlis 08:31, 13 November 2012 (CET)

Poll, Random, Flash, Progress, EditConflict and automated greeting are those I would say is most important then. Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 08:35, 13 November 2012 (CET)

If you want you can check those out and make a judgement on whats absolutely neccisery, stringloop would be good for templates though. But these would mostly be one time thing so it doesn't effect bandwidth does it? Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 08:37, 13 November 2012 (CET)

This would be useful too Zelos.png Emperor Zelos 17:21, 13 November 2012 (CET)

Hello

I've never met you, have I. I'm conlang, CL for short. My ways of conlanging are strange; I've still got quite a lot to learn. I might do a little coding with you sometime or another. I just stopped by for whatever reason. :P
