Inalienable genitive
Metin disinguishes between two types of genitive.
The alienable
fïduáyo "my pen" (You can give a pen to someone, or lose it.)
And the inalienable
i'qfuuyoh "my arm" (You can't give away that. At least, not normally.)
The endings for the inalienable are -oh "my" -hu/uhu"your" -eh "his, hers, its"
Compare these for the alienable endings you've already learned -o "my" -u/f "your" -en "his/hers/its"
The inalienable endings are usually used for
-Family members:
simeh suałtxen "txen's father"
-Body parts
i'qpluyoh "my ear"
-Components
yayemeh funjiki: "the bottom of the cup"
-Locations
yadëyeh sy'umiił "inside the house".
