Skundavisk
Etymology
From Middle Skundavisk slagen, from Old Skundavisk slahan, from Halmisk slahan, from Proto-Germanic *slahaną. The /h/>/g/ shift didn't happen everywhere, hence the dialectal slån form.
Pronunciation
IPA: /slaɟɘn/
Verb
slagen (class 6 strong, third-person singular simple present slægt, past tense sloog, past participle geslagen, past subjunctive sløge, auxiliary haven)
- to hit, to strike
- Hi moot the andfelt slagen.
- He must hit the anvil.
- Hi moot the andfelt slagen.
