Phonology
Consonants
Old Siészal had a smaller number of consonants than Modern Siészal. It also had no phonemic palatalization.
- Nasal: /m n ŋ/
- Voiceless stop: /p~ɸ t tʃ k/
- Voiced stop: /b d dʒ g/
- Voiceless fricative: /s ʃ x h/
- Voiced fricative: /z ʒ/
- Resonant: /w l j/
The Old Siészal consonant system is thought to derive from an earlier stage with only one stop series.
