Phonology
Consonants
Old Siészal had a smaller number of consonants than Modern Siészal. It also had no phonemic palatalization.
- Nasal: m n ŋ /m n ŋ/
- Voiceless stop: p t č k /p~ɸ t tʃ k/
- Voiced stop: b d j g /b d dʒ g/
- Voiceless fricative: s š h /s ʃ h/
- Voiced fricative: z ž /z ʒ/
- Resonant: w l y /w l j/
The Old Siészal consonant system is thought to derive from an earlier stage with only one stop series.

Old Siészal had an unusual vowel system, with no length distinction:
a e i ə u /ɑ æ i ə u/
It had the following vowel clusters: ai au aə ae ea ei eə eu ie iə iu ua uə ui
