The English name is in reference to a cultural aspect of the people, their unusually large reverence for Ravens, they place an oddly high importance on Ravens even for a Germanic tribe.
The language name is a compound of teudo and suomi, teudo being from Proto-Germanic *þeudō, and suomi from the identical Finnish word, it would translate as "Germanic's Finnish"
