• After decades of political and economic turmoil, the Alliance becomes a fully social democratic (eventually democratic socialist?) country. (**)
• There is a global treaty to halt AI capabilities research and similar research (e.g. synthetic pathogens and mirror life) that may endanger humanity. (***)
• A combination of good industrial policy, foreign aid and free information/non-addictive social media enables:
  • Clean electricity eventually becomes too cheap to meter (*)
  • Aqqaüqüququq invents and scales up efficient carbon dioxide removal. The world successfully deploys CDR in addition to achieving net zero emissions, bringing temperatures back down to <1.5°C in 80 years after 1.5°C is first reached. Eco-fascism loses power. (**)
  • Medical and life extension/anti-aging research is pursued instead, eventually bearing fruit. This accelerates collective human learning, as humans can now learn and achieve more in their lifetimes as the prerequisite material to learn keeps increasing. (****)
