Fortition itself is a process, so it does not make sense to speak of "changing fortition". Fortition is the process of increasing constriction or "stricture", i.e. the size of the space available for the airstream to pass through.

- In practice the terms fortition and lenition can also be used for states relative to the other, not just the processes. I'll change the wording a bit though to make it sound less awkward
