Fylfathic (/ˈfʊl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, /ˈfʌl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, or /ˈfɪl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/; Autonym: Northern: {{l|fulf|فيُلفاثاتيُنگا|tr=-}} /ˈfyl.fa.θa.ˌtyŋ.ɡa/; Southern: {{l|fulf|Φυλφαθατυγγα|tr=-}} /ˈfil.fa.θa.ˌtiŋ.ɡa/) is a Chlesamnic language spoken in small pockets on both the Greek and the Turkish sides of Cyprus, though the primary population is around the village of Kormakitis, though the Greek side has pockets at Limassol and Larnaca. Despite the very low population, Kormakitis is considered the primary area as it is the oldest area that still has a living speaker population.
Fylfathic (/ˈfʊl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, /ˈfʌl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, or /ˈfɪl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/; Autonym: {{l|fulf|فٖلفَنَوَث|tr=fülfanawaṯ}} /fyl.fa.na.waθ/) is a Chlesamnic language spoken around and on Mount Lebanon ({{l|fulf||tr=-}}).

==History==
==Etymology==
The Fylfans made their way to Cyprus with the Arab invasions in the mid-7th century, during this period they would maintain a closeness with the Arabs, settling in the same areas as them.
The modern name is the result of the rebracketing and misinterpretation of the older {{l|fulf|فٖلفَنَوثَتٖنَگ|tr=fülfanawṯatünag}}, itself from Classical Fylfathic {{lang|fulf|فيُلفانآثاتيُنگا}} ({{lang|fulf|fülfanōṯatünga}}), a compound of {{lang|fulf|فيُلفانآثاس}} (fülfanōṯas), the genitive of {{lang|fulf|فيُلفانص}} (fülfanṣ; "Fylfan people"), and {{lang|fulf|تيُنگا}} (tünga; "tongue, language"). The modern form {{lang|fulf|فٖلفَنَوَث}} (fülfanawaṯ) can itself be analyzed as {{l|fulf|فٖلَف|فٖلفَـ}} (fulfa-; "wolf") and {{l|fulf|ـنَوَث}} (-nawaṯ; "-ish, ic, -ian, -ese") through the further rebracketing of the term causing "-nawaṯ" to be taken as a suffix for forming language names.

During the late 12th century many Fylfans would travel to the south, participating in the Cypriot revolt and thus the Kingdom of Cyprus was established. Following this, many of the Fylfans would settle in Limassol and make it their home.
==Morphology==
Fylfathic is among the most divergent of all the Chlesamnic languages, and this shows in its strongly nonconcatenative morphology that works off roots as in the Semitic languages.
===Nouns===
Nouns have severely collapsed, losing all cases and barely holding onto gender.

In the modern age, many Fylfans have made their way to Larnaca, with the population made of both Northern and Southern Fylfans, their language would form a mixed dialect that now serves as an intermediate between the Northern and Southern dialects.

Fylfathic (/ˈfʊl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, /ˈfʌl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/, or /ˈfɪl.feɪ̯.ðɪk/; Autonym: فٖلفَنَوَث (fülfanawaṯ) /fyl.fa.na.waθ/) is a Chlesamnic language spoken around and on Mount Lebanon ([Term?]).

Etymology

The modern name is the result of the rebracketing and misinterpretation of the older فٖلفَنَوثَتٖنَگ (fülfanawṯatünag), itself from Classical Fylfathic فيُلفانآثاتيُنگا (fülfanōṯatünga), a compound of فيُلفانآثاس (fülfanōṯas), the genitive of فيُلفانص (fülfanṣ; "Fylfan people"), and تيُنگا (tünga; "tongue, language"). The modern form فٖلفَنَوَث (fülfanawaṯ) can itself be analyzed as فٖلفَـ (fulfa-; "wolf") and ـنَوَث (-nawaṯ; "-ish, ic, -ian, -ese") through the further rebracketing of the term causing "-nawaṯ" to be taken as a suffix for forming language names.

Morphology

Fylfathic is among the most divergent of all the Chlesamnic languages, and this shows in its strongly nonconcatenative morphology that works off roots as in the Semitic languages.

Nouns

Nouns have severely collapsed, losing all cases and barely holding onto gender.
