Amkima is a heavily tonal language inspired by User:Luzset Zari's Mikimak.
ma̗kam̄ = (linguistics) tone māa͇ma͇kīm̄̄ = valley
Phonology
Syllables allowed: /a i m̩ ma mi ka ki/
9 tones, including 5 level tones: /˥ ˦ ˧ ˨ ˩ ˩˨ ˨˧ ˧˦ ˦˥/ ⟨ā̄ ā a a̱ a̱̱ a̗̗ a̗ á á́⟩. The highest four level tones, /˥ ˦ ˧ ˨/, can be realized as [˥˦ ˦˧ ˧˨ ˨˩] respectively.
Unlike in Tōki Ḭke̱, there are no restrictions on where any tone can occur.
