From Classical Phrygian үoıvɛʌ (nūʿel), үoıvɛʌɑq (nūʿelatʰ), derived from ү-v-ʌ (n-ʿ-l). Compare Hebrew נַעַל (náʿal), Syriac ܢܥܠܐ (naʿlā), Arabic نَعْل (naʿl).
