Some con-accents of English.

RhoTA (Rhotic Transatlantic)

VOWELS: KIT, DRESS as in GenAm/Modern RP. TRAP as in GenAm, but no tensing or raising before nasals. BATH as in RP. FOOT as in GenAm but slightly fronted. STRUT, LOT, CLOTH as in modern RP. THOUGHT as in Modern RP. FLEECE, FACE, GOOSE, CHOICE as in Modern RP. PRICE as in GenAm, with no Canadian raising. MOUTH as GenAm. GOAT as in RP. Do not front the offglide. NEAR, NORTH, FORCE, POOR, CURE as in Philadelphia. SQUARE, NURSE, START as in GenAm. LETTER, COMMA, HAPPY as in GenAm.

MERGERS: orange as in RP. No Mary-merry-marry merger. No mirror-nearer merger. No hurry-furry merger. No cot-caught merger. Horse-hoarse merger. All 3 of fall, full, fool are distinct. Foal is pronounced as in Modern RP. LOT-CLOTH merger. wine-whine distinction optional.

OTHER NOTES: /l/ is always dark but never vocalized. Intervocalic /t/ may be pronounced [t] or be flapped [ɾ]. Do not use glottal stops unless GenAm would do so. Tense and lax vowels are distinguished by length, as in RP.
