Ethnic groups
There are three recognized ethnic groups in Caesillania; the Caésilla, the Dáolchulla, and the Féarcáralla, the last roughly translating to "those of other origins." The Caésilla and Dáolchulla are the only recognized native ethnicities.
The Dáolchulla are a nonhuman species, the vast majority of whom live in Caesillania, and who are generally considered to have only one ethnic group. Overall humanoid in appearance, they have pointed ears, fungal or plant parasites, long clawed fingers, a variety of nonhuman skin tones (including greens and purples), and often exceed two metres in height. They can live much longer than humans, with records of individuals claiming to be half a century or older.
The Caésilla, who get their name from the country they live in, are human, and more populous than the Dáolchulla, but have considerably less social and political power. However, in recent years, they have become much more technologically advanced and economically strong than the Dáolchulla. Most are descended from native human populations or humans who were previously enslaved by the Dáolchulla, although naturalized human immigrants are also considered to be Caésilla.
There are a variety of Féarcáralla ethnicities and species, but they are all legally recognized as one ethnic group.

Religion
Gétá chúlla, or 'tending the growth,' is the name of the main religion practiced in the Caesillan Republic. It is an animistic religion with many folk-magic practices, particularly concerned with the usage of plants for healing and poisoning. The spirit representatives of plants are the central deities, with Síorsu (belladonna) as the most revered.

Cuisine
The Dáolchulla population is capable of obtaining approximately 70% of their required energy through natural photosynthesis. Foods consumed tend to be for non-strictly-nutritious purposes; alcohol and other drugs make up a huge percentage of consumption.
Although humans have different nutritional requirements, Caésilla also consume a large amount of alcohol and other drugs in comparison to most humans, due to cultural influence from the Dáolchulla.
Meat and animal products are uncommon, but not absent, from Caésillan cuisine. Alligator meat is something put into a lot of meals sold to tourists, but only occasionally eaten by natives.
