Etymology

From Old Grekelin αποθήκα (Apotheca), from Medieval Greek αποθήκη, a compound of από (Away from) + θήκη (Case), literally "A place to put things away". Cognate with French boutique, Greek αποθήκη, German Apotheke, Grekelin apotteck.
