From Classical Phrygian ɓɑɜɑp (vesjer), from Proto-West Semitic *baśar-. Cognate with Hebrew בָּשָׂר (basár), Phoenician 𐤁𐤔𐤓 (bšr), Arabic بَشَر (bašar), among others. Doublet of ɓ̰ɛɜɛ́p.
