Usage notes

Some speakers use tok ("oko") → {} ("{}") for the sense of “eye”, which remains relatively common. In the English edition of Toki Pona: The Language of Good, oko is presented as a synonym of lukin, alongside tok ("kin") → {} ("{}") (for tok ("a") → {} ("{}")) and tok ("namako") → {} ("{}") (for tok ("sin") → {} ("{}")). Toki Pona Dictionary notes that the community uses these words differently both before and after the publication of The Language of Good.
