Inherited from Koine Greek παραθύρι (parathýri), a compound of παρά (pará, "by the side of") + θύρα (thýra, "door"), literally "The thing by the door", with an -i from a dialectal version of the word in Pre-Grekelin. Can also be considered a compound word since it'd be the exact same if it was a Grekelin construction.
