I was trying out some new designs for the tables, if you were wondering.   Waahlis 01:47, 30 July 2012 (EST)

I approve   Emperor Zelos 02:03, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Declension √tt - first (father)
Patientative Agentative Instrumental Locative
Collective atta attau attan attei
Singular attam attum attaya attea
Plural atita atitau atitan atitei

Something like this? --  Waahlis 02:05, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Me gusta =)   Emperor Zelos 02:08, 30 July 2012 (EST)

I'll work on a few more designs. Though blue will be the primary nuance. --  Waahlis 02:09, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Umbrean

Quick question, how do you mark or form possessive clauses in Umbrean?   Waahlis 03:53, 30 July 2012 (EST)

How do you mean? Like "The queens crown"?   Emperor Zelos 04:06, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Uhhh, Yeah, I suppose that'll do? --  Waahlis 04:08, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Considering you say "Suppose" Which did you mean otherwise?

For that hting you use the constructive state of nouns.   Emperor Zelos 04:11, 30 July 2012 (EST)

No, no, the example was juste very unexpected... Can I see an example? --  Waahlis 04:16, 30 July 2012 (EST)

I can't give an example though look up arabic and its similar.

Though technicly it has 2 posessives.

Alienable uses the construction state where the posessed is put into construction state of the same case as the posessor. "My computer broke" would be like "I computer-con broke"

Inalienable both nouns are places in their basic form. "My arm broke" would simply be "I arm broke"

  Emperor Zelos 04:20, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Very well, thank you but I solved the problem I was working on.   Waahlis 04:24, 30 July 2012 (EST)

May I ask why you desired this information?   Emperor Zelos 04:27, 30 July 2012 (EST)

I was considering ways of expressing possession in Attian. --  Waahlis 04:41, 30 July 2012 (EST)

adposition, clitic, state, case overlap or verb are the usual ones I am aware of.   Emperor Zelos 04:42, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Template:Classing --  Waahlis 05:38, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Good start, but isnt typology redudant with what we have?   Emperor Zelos 05:55, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Well, what I wanted to show off, was the new table style. There are three new ones. --  Waahlis 06:01, 30 July 2012 (EST)

Hellou! Do you think you could make a switch in this template so that the top 5 rows only appear if you write something in them? :) --  Waahlis 20:51, 31 July 2012 (EST)

Individually or as a group?   Emperor Zelos 22:19, 31 July 2012 (EST)

I am not sure, ah, what the hell - take them all! --  Waahlis 22:43, 31 July 2012 (EST)

Ban

Why are you banned on Wikia?   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 00:27, 2 August 2012 (EST)

Hahaa, yeah, I forgot to tell you about that. Out of the air, Wikia decided to block him based upon his previous misdemeanour. Quite humorous if you ask me.   Waahlis 00:30, 2 August 2012 (EST)

How strange, what was the specific reason they gave?   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 00:31, 2 August 2012 (EST)

Oh, please, "reason"? That's for rebels and agitators...   Waahlis 00:33, 2 August 2012 (EST)

I placed a warning on the welcome message that anything added will be kept there ragardless of their consent after it has been added.   Emperor Zelos 00:55, 2 August 2012 (EST)

6 months is a bit harsh, not that you use Wikia anymore so it's not a great shame I don't suppose.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 00:59, 2 August 2012 (EST)

It is WIKIA, they are assholes so of course htey would do 6 months, they have yet to respond to any form of reasoning.   Emperor Zelos 01:00, 2 August 2012 (EST)

On valency

If you ever want to get a totally neutral reaction out of a linguist (typologists excluded), ask them about valency. If you (yes, you) divided up the world into those that care about valence-changing operations and those that don't and pitted the two groups against each other in a deadly game of dodgeball played with spiked metal balls rather than rubber ones, then at the end of the day, there'd no longer be anyone alive who cared about valence-changing operations—myself included (though I'd put up a hell of a fight!).

- David J. Petersen

Thought it suited you quite well! --  Waahlis 05:33, 4 August 2012 (EST)

Might be due to my tired state but I have no clue what it is meant for   Emperor Zelos 15:15, 4 August 2012 (EST)

No, it just seems like you like valency and transitivity a lot. If not, well...   Waahlis 15:56, 4 August 2012 (EST)

I think little of those :P But they do serve their purposes.  Emperor Zelos 16:10, 4 August 2012 (EST)

I've created a Template:Vowelchart. Would it be possible for you to make the cells disappear, if they are not used? --  Waahlis 16:14, 4 August 2012 (EST)

there is no input method there   Emperor Zelos 16:44, 4 August 2012 (EST)

What? I intend to make it our standard vowel chart for our languages? --  Waahlis 16:49, 4 August 2012 (EST)

yes but without input it cannot be changed   Emperor Zelos 16:51, 4 August 2012 (EST)

So you're saying that one would need to enter "no" instead of nothing to make the cells disappear?   Waahlis 16:54, 4 August 2012 (EST)

You can have nothing or no as the input, but you need input variables like {{{1|}}} or {{{Closemidround|}}} or whatever within the template   Emperor Zelos 17:06, 4 August 2012 (EST)

I know that! I just asked if it would be possible for you to fix those switches? --  Waahlis 19:17, 4 August 2012 (EST)

Yes   Emperor Zelos 19:31, 4 August 2012 (EST)

It was mostly a rhetorical question. If I want to create these variables, that is if I want a Close central rounded vowel, ʉ, by inputting "yes", how would it look? --  Waahlis 19:42, 4 August 2012 (EST)

{{#if:{{{CCRV|}}}|ʉ|}} is how it would be   Emperor Zelos 20:58, 4 August 2012 (EST)

On Rostov

Apparently Rostov's playing nice now. Good for him. His recruiting seems to go well. --  Waahlis 04:40, 5 August 2012 (EST)

Thumbs up   Emperor Zelos 04:35, 7 August 2012 (EST)

I discovered a major fallacy, when the box didn't distinguish object or subject personal agreement, nor gender. Both cases happened to be vital to my lang.... :p --  Waahlis 04:37, 7 August 2012 (EST)

Elaboirate what you mean   Emperor Zelos 04:40, 7 August 2012 (EST)

Would it be possible for you to make a working template out of Template:Vowelchart? So that if you write "yes" on Nc-Nf-uR you get the near-close near-front unrounded vowel (ɪ)? Same thing about the rounded one (ʏ) but including the dot (·), so that you "know" it is rounded? And if neither of the vowels in a pair are selected, the cell disappears? --  Waahlis 23:23, 8 August 2012 (EST)

I can but I suggested a better coding system than Nc-Nf-uR first, which I don't know. It just is crummy   Emperor Zelos 00:45, 9 August 2012 (EST)

Yeah, whatever abbreviation you prefer the most.   Waahlis 01:03, 9 August 2012 (EST)

You come with the abbreviation, I will fix that after   Emperor Zelos 01:17, 9 August 2012 (EST)

On article style

A few stylistic mistakes which were repeated throughout the text, and you might ought to remember:

  • Do not capitalise anything else but proper names in texts.
  • Only the first initial in headers are capitalised.
  • Headers are never in an oblique or bold style.
  • Headers are never links.
  • English capitalises all adjectivised proper names.
  • Abbreviations should be avoided.
  • Words such as "pros" and "cons" are subjective and should be avoided.

Nothing personal, of course.   Waahlis 05:08, 1 September 2012 (EST)

I know, nothing personal, I am not the most fantastic with style and such, that is why I like having you around to fix my mistakes.

Though "Pros" and "Cons" can be objective, these ones are more obejctive and hence why I included them for things for people to consider.   Emperor Zelos 05:13, 1 September 2012 (EST)

I think "characteristics" is a more neutral and objective choice, and nevertheless, they should be blended with text.   Waahlis 05:19, 1 September 2012 (EST)

I can accept that if you wish to put it like that.   Emperor Zelos 05:21, 1 September 2012 (EST)

I will fix a more considered alternative when I have completed my prioritations. --  Waahlis 05:23, 1 September 2012 (EST)

Voting

You think you could make a voting template where they would add there name into the "vote" input(or whatever), seprating names by a comma, they would then put a semicolon and then the language name/insoles. you would somehow check if the user is real(probably by adding "User:" to the beginning of it) and checking to see if they already voted. I know it's a big task, but it's for the wikis good. :) (at least to make it easier to vote:\)

MP3s

Do you know how to add MP3 files to articles? I can't even upload load one to the wiki.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 20:42, 9 September 2012 (EST)

I don't think Wikkii allows MP3 files at all. It doesn't allow vector files, for example. What language? :)   Waahlis 20:50, 9 September 2012 (EST)

I have a reading of the Lord's Prayer in Kihā́mmic that I recorded last night, it's not great quite a lot of the phonology is off but it's good enough I think. I suppose I could upload it to YouTube with a "lyrics video" and embed that?   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 21:06, 9 September 2012 (EST)

Yeah, I know that works. I just don't like my things on youtube...   Waahlis 21:08, 9 September 2012 (EST)

You can't sadly, we need to grow suffiently large to be able to get our own codesn ad such to do taht first, but youtube is uspported.   Emperor Zelos 21:13, 9 September 2012 (EST)

I'm not overly keen on having them on YouTube either but if I make it private I think that should be fine. Now to make a video then.

Ah, okay, ah well YouTube will have to suffice.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 21:15, 9 September 2012 (EST)

Nyheter

Featured

In my opinion, we're getting quite close to get the voting started:

We need to get that party started. Please give me your opinion on it; improvements, criticism, anything concrete. Then hopefully, October'll be the month of the first official featured voting!   Waahlis 22:24, 26 September 2012 (EST)

For example where it says "<editcount-total>" it should say "Percentage" or something similar.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 02:43, 30 September 2012 (EST)

Ehm, no it does not. Not on my smartphone, nor on the computer. Sorry, it must be you... :/   Waahlis 03:19, 30 September 2012 (EST)

Odd, I'll try in on other browsers.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 03:27, 30 September 2012 (EST)

It displays fine on Firefox and IE, must be a problem with Chrome or my settings.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 03:33, 30 September 2012 (EST)

Works fine on my Chrome as well... Odd.   Waahlis 03:35, 30 September 2012 (EST)

It also displays on Chrome fine in incognito mode; it might be AdBlock messing something up.   Pá mamūnám ontā́ bán 03:36, 30 September 2012 (EST)

On the new (old by now) classing template

Zelos, would it be possible for you to recalculate the meters on the classing template, into showing percentage instead? It is for my experimental classing template. Also there seems to be something wrong when displaying the declension/conjugation additions to the table. Your area of expertise, I figured.   Waahlis 05:05, 12 October 2012 (EST)

It does already do percentage technicly   Emperor Zelos 06:06, 12 October 2012 (EST)

I got that too, actually... I meant if you could make it display numbers instead of a bar?   Waahlis 06:10, 12 October 2012 (EST)

ah yes though that is more ugly on left/right one but if you mean completeness then it is as easy as pi to four decimals   Emperor Zelos 06:18, 12 October 2012 (EST)

3.1416......? Couldn't you make a function that transforms the percentage into the text "left", "mix" or "right" then?   Waahlis 06:25, 12 October 2012 (EST)

yes   Emperor Zelos 06:37, 12 October 2012 (EST)

Excellent! Could you make an experimental template page with the same nomenclature as the ones I already have? (User:Waahlis/Template:Waa[...])   Waahlis 06:45, 12 October 2012 (EST)

As I said, your templates aren't feeling very well...   Waahlis 04:54, 13 October 2012 (EST)

I can't even see that you ahve used my templates there   Emperor Zelos 06:02, 13 October 2012 (EST)

It doesn't seem to have worked... Now they don't form rows... :(   Waahlis 21:55, 14 October 2012 (EST)

Operation Factura

Dear administrator and friend, I hereby invite you to Operation Factura, where the Featured language contest shall be commenced and terminated by the end of October. In my view, there is only one matter of importance left - the voting time frame. Since you and MOB had a vivid discussion on it, I'd appreciate if it reached a conclusion. Sincerely,   Waahlis 01:50, 15 October 2012 (EST)

Vill du vara snäll och se min och MOB:s diskussion på hans diskussionssida? Kontrollera att vi förstått din inställning rätt! :D   Waahlis 02:04, 16 October 2012 (EST)

Voting and Coding

Hello, Zelos, sorry for interupting your day to day activities, but I want you to look at this code, the voting template draft.

Here is an overview of what it is supose to do: purpose.

File:CircleConlang.jpgCLtɔk ˈpeɪdʒ/ 05:01, 16 October 2012 (EST)

P.S. sorry for my bad spelling, I usually have spell check. :/ (I'm more of of a speaking person than writing)

whats the purpose for it? count votes?   Emperor Zelos 05:36, 16 October 2012 (EST)

Well, You would probably write it like this

{{Voting|
Language's name:|
:User who wants to vote for the language|
:User 2 who wants to vote for the lanuage|
Language 2's name|
:User who wants to vote for language 2|
:User 2 who wants to vote for the lanuage 2|
etc.
}}

It would count them up for each language and put it like this:

Language's name: 2
Language 2's name: 2

File:CircleConlang.jpgCLtɔk ˈpeɪdʒ/ 05:48, 16 October 2012 (EST)

thats a highly ineffient method, could be done much simpler. If you want i'll fix it   Emperor Zelos 06:21, 16 October 2012 (EST)

Fix it as in make it more effient? If so, yes, please fix it, otherwise, please tell me the more effient way. :)

I am the import God! (After you, of course :p ) However, if you could make the Navs collapsible, it'd be appreciated!   Waahlis 06:10, 22 October 2012 (EST)
