Skundavisk

Etymology

From Middle Skundavisk taken, from Old Skundavisk tākan, tēkan, from Halmisk tēkan, from Proto-Germanic *tēkaną. The shortening of the /a/ vowel during the late times of Old Skundavisk is irregular and explains why the modern form is not *tåken as it normally would be.
