Contionary:manjaṡ
Valtamic
Etymology
From Proto-Valtamic *måŋåź, *måŋåś, borrowed from Middle Mongol ᠮᠣᠩᠬᠣᠯ (mongqol) (whence Modern Mongolian монгол) and later generalized to Muscovians. A similar development can be seen with ġulünjul, ultimately from a form of Old Norse væringi ("Varangian"). Doublet of mongol(hor).
