Bonzic is one of the three major branches of the Quame languages, together with Naquian and Talmic. Characteristics include:

  • It is the only branch that keeps distinct all 3 of the Proto-Quame stop series, voiced, tenuis and ejective. (Talmic merged voiced and ejective, and Naquic merged tenuis with voiced.)
  • The modern languages are characterized by large clitic complexes that encode information such as tense, mood, subject agreement, and object agreement, that are separated from the verb.
