Nepokian

Etymology

From Middle Nepokian keiro, Old Nepokian keiros, Proto-Nepokian keiros, of uncertain, but most probably Indo-European origin. 'eilo belongs to the group of words for which their is no PIE root available, as it seems that Nepokian is the only language of the group which has preserved this word. If one accepts the Nostratic hypothesis, the word may have its source in ko˻w˼r∇ 'embers, hearth'.

Pronunciation

IPA: /ˈʔeilo/
