Middle Annerish

Etymology

Obscure; Bernthaler draws connection to Germanic *matjaną ("to dine"), Celtic *madyeti ("to break") and Old Annerish móa, múa ("breastmilk or porridge"). Imperative from Indo-European *wes-.
