From Middle Skundavisk vall, from Old Skundavisk valla, from Halmisk ᚹᚨᛚᛚᚨ (walla), ᚹᚨᛚᛚᚨᛉ (wallaŕ), from Proto-Germanic *wallaz, from Latin vallum.
