Basic phrases

All 2nd-person pronouns are fiar for convenience. There are additional number distinctions in Eevo.

  • Nwtxáh lles! (to one person) / Nwtxáh lled! (to >1 person) = Hello!
  • Gail! /kã/ = Hi!
  • Tiar a cri iar? = How are you doing? (i.e. how are you going)
  • Ym. /əm/ = (colloquial) Not very well.
  • Loñan! /ˈʟɔŋən/ = Welcome!/Greetings!
  • Lly eeganda! = Goodbye!
  • Jw! /ju/ = Bye! (informal)
  • Iant ciwm's nav! /iənt kʰiums nav/ = Good night!
  • A møli ryn (said by one person)/A møli = Thank you.
    • Twm deljað. = You're welcome.
  • Tiar a fel res? = What is your name?
    • $NAME a fel ryn. = My name is $NAME.
  • A snwih llyn. /ə snuih χɛn/ = I'm sorry.
  • Cesri! = (archaic) Greetings!
  • Ðelláws ___ = Please ___ (from *i ðewn llaws, lit. if I may request)
  • Slawb gyl naw ... = I like ...
    • Twm slawb gyl naw ... = I don't like ...
  • Yv ticer þeer fiar? = How old are you?
    • Yv N þeer naw. = I'm N years old.
  • A sñøørree ploh! /ə ˈsŋœyr̥ɛi ˈpʟɔh/ (lit. Bright birthday) = Happy birthday!
  • A Bwrjadreeg ploh! /ə ˈpurjətrɛik ˈpʟɔh/ = Happy winter solstice!

    • Fyldélfja ... /fɔ̃ˈtɛ̃fjə .../ = ... Philadelphia.

  • Taw a morel mi? = What day is it today?
    • (Morel) Ahdi a morel mi. = Today is Sunday.

  • Ec. = Yes. (to positive questions); No. (to negative questions)
