Wow what the heck, Linguifex never informed me of this comment. Thanks for the feedback, I'm thinking you're right about context, but I can never seem to make up my mind about where to start. I see you guys doing cool relay shennanigans now with your languages and I've been sitting here 3 years and have made nothing. How did you manage to make Fén I wonder? --OlySlayer (talk) 03:44, 3 September 2013 (CEST) | |||
Well, there was a game where someone built a conlang for his faction which amounted to anglicised-japanese pidgin with an apriori vocab. I based mine off that [which is where the very short syllables and some grammatical influences come from]. I basically decided on VOS order with some Irish grammatical innovations and smooshed together Irish, English and French words with the goal of producing short intelligible sentances before refining the linguistic side and learning the aspects that I could/should drop in "vernacular speech".-Fauxlosophe (talk) 16:39, 6 October 2013 (CEST) |

I am down for 3/4 of these goals. Yes.
Except I pretty well run off of context and I feel like it's one of the cooler things in some languages to run off it by dropping useless participles to get to the point. Languages should just say what they need to say! Plus, if there's no ambiguity then puns will be a dead artform.
All the same, I'll keep an eye on this (If only because, if you traded out Slavic for French/Romantic, you'd basically have the same influences as Fén)
