Waahlis
Doubt is not an agreeable condition, but certainty is an absurd one. |
Hello, I'm Waahlis, or if you're Swedish, Wåhlis /voːlɛ̝s/, and I'm one of the members and administrators of this community. I am an avid conlanger, and I have been running since about 2005! My preferences are normally naturalistic languages, which should be a priori, even though I appreciate a posteriori ones as well!
Profile
Location
I can be found around the Internet with the very same username, usually at sites dedicated to conlanging.
- I used to have a profile at the Conlang Wikia, but after a lot of drama, I unfortunately got blocked.
- Nevertheless, I can also be found Conlang Wikkii where I am one of the administrators. Then again, the host, Wikkii, has an ungly habit of going offline...
- My profile on DeviantArt is a plausible place for me to hide, should you be looking for me! There, I am part of the Conlanger group, a very nice community!
- In addition to these, I may be found at the Frathwiki, where I rarely spend any time what so ever.
Should you ever feel a dire need of contacting me, either visit the above pages, or simply leave me a message at my discussion page!
Sincerely, Waahlis
Origin
I am from Sweden, Western Sweden to be more precise. Here I dwell on the lustrous beaches, rough sea and chaming cafés enjoying language creation, physics, drawing, rhetorics and a lot of tea.
If you want, you may contact me in any language you personally think I stand a chance at understanding - if I don't, I'll find a way!
Projects
Façade
- Operation Façade - Complete Main page. Again. Third time in a bleeding year.
- Template:Portal/Transformer
- Operation Modèle - Devise an organisation system for templates. Currently on the letter: F
- Operation Portrait - Import pictures.
- Operation Assistance - Improve and create help pages.
Languages
Miscellaneous
- Tlastir - A fairly synthetic language with clear Uto-American inspiration. And Greek, of course. It has got a few interesting quirks.
- Messinese - An originally Romance a posteriori language, until it was decided to be an a priori with Italian characteristics. Influenced by Romanian and Dutch.
Attamian languages
- Proto-Attamian - My first ever proto-language.
- Attian - Armeno-Arabic inspired language with an active-stative alignment and nonconcatenative morphology. Originally an attempt at uniting Celtic and Arabic.
- Damian - A so far sketchy language with Greek/Slavic/Shona/Khmer influences. Possibly ergative, maybe accusative. Mangled by allophony.
- Namic - Indo-European and especially Indo-Iranian influenced language, tripartite, heavy in phonemes, heavy in cases and heavy in scope. A language revised from being a mixed a priori - a posteriori language of the Indo-Iranian branch.
