From Middle Finian ûlna, from Early Finian wulna, from Finio-Dhannic wŭlna (compare Aurónian lánna), from Proto-Lúsanic wúlnā, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂wḷh₁néh₂. (compare Russian volna, Latin lāna, Germanic *wullō, Lithuanian vilna).
