Etymology
From Old Aeranir cops ("helmet"), from Proto-Iscaric *kops̠, from PME *ħʷkep- ("to tie a knot, to join"). The original sense of the word deriving from the fact that helmets were usually tied at the chin. Related to ceptiç ("they wear me on their head"). Cognate with Dalitian okóphos ("braid").
