Etymology

From Middle Eburonian fliegen, fliegn, fliegien, fliegin, from Old Eburonian fliugan, fleugan, from Proto-West Germanic *fleugan, from Proto-Germanic *fleuganą. Cognate with German fliegen, Dutch vliegen, English fly, Danish flyva.
