Contionary:yui
Iwáxa Tui
Pronunciation
- IPA: /ˈju.i/[?] [ˈju.i]
Noun
yui
- item of clothing; an item formed from the intertwining of filaments and meant to be worn on a body.
- Makiyui imai!
- I see a piece of clothes I want! (Childish)
- Makiyui imai!
Usage notes
Yui is typically only used for items that are not in wear at the time of speaking. Entire outfits are rarely described as yui or its plural form since they are constructed with imagining what they would look like when worn in mind. Yui is, however, sometimes used by the upper class to describe the outfits or clothes in wear of the lower class as belittlement.
