Tunings

Various inharmonic tunings. Many of them use a stretched octave or a different interval altogether (such as ~3/1 or ~3/2) as their interval of equivalence. Among the variety of tunings used are quasi-equal pentatonic, heptatonic and nonatonic scales, familiar to Earthlings from Indonesian and Thai music. (In fact, [an Etalocian] invented porcupine temperament, inspired by Bjeheondian quasi-equal heptatonic scales.) The exact tuning is not considered as important as how different instruments can blend together and factors such as rhythm, structure, symbolism and texture; in fact, some shimmering beating is considered desirable.
